About Fran Fenn

I am a yoga teacher based in Harpenden.

I first became interested in yoga in 1996. My instruction had been in Hatha Yoga under the guidance of BWY teachers. After many years of attending regular practice it was a natural progression to embark on a teacher training programme.

I felt I wanted to share my enthusiasm and knowledge to give students a safe, supportive and enjoyable foundation for their future interest on their own individual yoga path. This was achieved through the governing body for yoga in Great Britain, the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) where I completed the 500h Level 4 NVQ Diploma Course. Additionally, I am fully qualified and insured to teach yoga for pregnancy.

Challenging and rewarding

When I first started yoga classes I was one of the least able students and found the classes both challenging and rewarding. Like many people I was not very flexible or fit and found it hard to relax. I discovered yoga is not competitive it is individual. It is about listening to and observing your body and working within your own limits, without strain.

I also discovered there is a natural joy moving with awareness can bring to the body. I am focused on how yoga works in the 21st century and keen to show how everyone can benefit from yoga.
